My name is Brenda Brown. I am a 50-year-old christian woman who grew up primarily in Oklahoma. I attended Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas and received a BA in Spanish with a French minor. During my college years I attended a semester in Florence, Italy, where I met and started dating my wonderful husband (a Floridian!) of 28 years. We have lived in Florida, Oklahoma, New Mexico and most recently Minnesota. We have been in Minnesota for almost 16 years now. I am one of the strange people who love the weather here! We have 2 grown and married sons, 2 lovely daughters-in-law, a sweet college-age daughter, a 2-year-old grandson, a newborn grandson, and another grandchild on the way! We are blessed! All are christians and all are a blessing in our lives! I am a certified scuba diver and I LOVE to travel (especially internationally), to read, and to bird watch! I am very actively involved in my church and spend much of my time with my family and my church family! I’ve been a homemaker for 26 years and homeschooled my children beginning in 10th, 6th and 3rd grades and loved it! I wish we had homeschooled from the first day of kindergarten! I thank God every day for the life I’ve been given….the easy as well as the difficult…
Romans 8:28: “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”
I know that every event in my life is bringing me closer to Him and to the person He wants me to be and I feel privileged to be used in whatever way He chooses to use me. I am truly blessed.
What a wonderful bio, Brenda. I’m so glad to know you!
Brenda, I am honored to know you! You and others in your life situation are tremendous blessings in my life. You all affirm what has called me to do both locally and internationally.
Good Morning! First I need to tell you 2 things…I don’t do social media except email. ….Not because I don’t like keeping in touch with new and old friends, but I have just never gotten into the routine. Jessica set up a facebook page and I just don’t do it. Secondly, you have been in our prayers since we knew about your hearing challenges. We were both amazed that you seemed to be dealing with it with great calm, conviction, and courage! You are truly inspirational with your fight regarding your hearing!
We just read your latest blog regarding your blood clots from the steroids. We are so sorry that you have an additional challenge! Sometimes life has challenges in bundles! We have had those times, just different problems. It sure sounds like you are searching with vigor to get some answers and I am confident that you will find some answers that will help you since your faith is so strong! God will not let you down!!!
Regarding our Alaskan trip…is that still in your plans? Just wanted to let you know that if it needs to be postponed or changed, we are fine with whatever needs to be modified. I just wanted to reassure you that we are just fine with however it all works out…do not worry about us. That’s how having 6 children has helped me. It seems like things are always tentative in our lives even now.
Keep us posted via email if you can. I do check that on a regular basis.
ps…we got this blog site and info regarding your health concerns from Louise Maynard last nite at church. She and Ron were visiting Concord Road which is where we attend.
We love you,
Carl and Marilyn
